At around 1 a.m. on February 25, a Lynk & Co Z20 driver experienced a harrowing incident on a nighttime highway when an unintended voice command accidentally deactivated the vehicle's exterior headlights. This sudden loss of illumination led to the driver losing control and colliding with a guardrail. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. On the evening of February 26, Mu Jun, the Deputy General Manager of Lynk & Co Sales Co., Ltd., addressed the situation, stating that an immediate optimization solution for the voice control system had been developed and deployed via a cloud-based update. Following this update, the headlights can now only be manually turned off while the vehicle is in motion. This incident has sparked widespread public concern regarding the safety implications of voice-controlled headlight functions. In response, some Deepal vehicle owners conducted tests and discovered that their cars also possessed the capability to turn off the driving lights through voice commands while driving.
