On Tuesday, GM Korea declared its intention to ramp up production to 500,000 vehicles this year, aiming to keep pace with the escalating demand in overseas markets, especially in the United States. This production goal marks an 8.5% uptick compared to the 460,826 vehicles manufactured last year. Earlier, whispers had circulated suggesting that, in light of the hike in U.S. import tariffs, GM Korea might consider downsizing or even pulling out of its business ventures in South Korea.
