Recently, XPENG Motors made headlines by announcing the consolidation of its Autonomous Driving and Smart Cockpit Centers into a newly formed Integrated Intelligence Center. This strategic move will see Liu Xianming, previously at the helm of the Autonomous Driving division, take charge of the new center, reporting directly to Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng. The Integrated Intelligence Center is envisioned as a cutting-edge AI entity catering to both automotive and robotic sectors. It will feature a multi-tiered organizational structure, establishing sub-departments, and leveraging an AI technology platform as the bedrock for applications in intelligent driving, smart cockpits, and robotics.

Previously, both Liu Xianming and Wei Bin, the former leader of the Smart Cockpit Center, reported directly to He Xiaopeng. However, Wei Bin is currently on a leave of absence. This consolidation marks a significant step in streamlining XPENG Motors' AI capabilities, creating a unified team framework centered on AI and software development. Prior to the official launch of the new department, the existing AI and large-scale model R&D strengths from both teams were seamlessly integrated.
