On January 29, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced during the Q4 2025 earnings call that production of the Model S and Model X will be fully discontinued before the end of the second quarter of this year. The freed-up capacity will be used to produce the Optimus humanoid robot, with a target annual production of one million units.
