Tesla has made significant progress in its initiative to integrate Optimus robots into its manufacturing facilities, with the Austin Gigafactory earmarked as the upcoming training hub. Starting from February, Tesla intends to gather data at this factory to refine the capabilities of its humanoid robot, with the ultimate goal of enabling Optimus to operate seamlessly within the Texas plant. Prior to this, Tesla has dedicated over a year to collecting data and refining prototypes at its Fremont factory in California. To minimize disruption to production processes, data collection teams operated independently of the regular workforce. Musk revealed that Optimus is currently engaged in performing basic tasks at the factory and is on track to undertake more intricate responsibilities by the end of this year. However, its deployment will remain confined to industrial settings for the time being, with a public sales launch anticipated by the end of next year.
