The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, in collaboration with the Japan Auto Parts Industries Association, is spearheading the development of an information-sharing system tailored for automotive semiconductors, with completion slated for April of this year. This innovative system will introduce a 'semiconductor traceability' platform, designed to empower automakers with precise chip information and foster diversification in supply sources, thereby carrying significant strategic defensive value. The operational reins of this system will be handed over to the 'Automotive and Storage Battery Traceability Promotion Center'. Furthermore, Japan has outlined plans to forge an alliance among automobile manufacturers in June 2025, with the shared goal of advancing artificial intelligence-driven autonomous vehicle technology. Notably, Toyota has already embarked on a collaborative journey with a Chinese company in 2024, culminating in the development of an L4 autonomous driving concept car, which made its debut at the China International Import Expo.
