On January 21, Tesla made an official announcement stating that its complimentary Full Self - Driving (FSD) feature transfer program will come to an official end on March 31, 2026. Before this date, vehicle owners have the privilege of transferring their purchased Autopilot package to another Tesla vehicle at no extra cost. Previously, Tesla had already confirmed that, commencing from February 14, 2024, the option for a one - time purchase of the FSD package would be discontinued, and only subscription services would be on offer. This strategic adjustment has been interpreted by the outside world as marking a permanent end to the previous model. It's also speculated that Tesla might roll out tiered subscription plans or a billing model based on mileage.
