Electric vehicle industry analyst Sawyer Merritt disclosed that the Tesla Cybercab is set to begin production in under 100 days. This marks the inaugural implementation of Tesla's "unboxed" manufacturing approach. The time required for a single vehicle to come off the production line is projected to be less than 10 seconds, with the long-term ambition of trimming the production cycle down to roughly 5 seconds.
In response to this news, Musk clarified that the initial production phase generally proceeds at a slower pace. He explained that production growth typically follows an "S"-shaped curve. In this context, the rate at which production capacity increases is inversely related to the number of new components and processes involved. Considering that almost all components of both the Cybercab and Optimus are newly engineered, the production speed in the early stages will be exceptionally sluggish. However, Musk assured that it will ultimately achieve a remarkably rapid pace.
