Recently, numerous owners of FAW-VW's ID series pure electric vehicles have voiced their concerns. They reported that the lifetime warranty service for the three core electric systems (battery, motor, and electric control), which they were originally entitled to at the time of purchase, has been inexplicably altered to an 8-year warranty in the official App. This change has sparked widespread apprehension among owners regarding their rights.
Some owners discovered that the lifetime warranty for the three electric systems, which they had redeemed using ID beans (a kind of virtual currency or points within the FAW-VW ecosystem), is now showing as an 8-year warranty in the App. Notably, this alteration came without any official explanation. Furthermore, discrepancies have arisen between the warranty periods displayed in the App for the lifetime warranty of the three electric systems and the vehicle warranty as explicitly outlined in their contracts. Neither the official representatives nor the dealers have provided clear solutions to address these discrepancies.
FAW-VW's customer service responded by stating that the App displays benefits in batches and that the non-display of certain benefits does not affect their validity. However, this response has done little to alleviate the owners' concerns. Previously, these owners had also been embroiled in a controversy over the 'reduction of free data benefits.' Although their benefits were eventually restored, the official entity still retained the right to modify the terms, leaving owners feeling uncertain and vulnerable.
