On January 16, a coalition of six departments, spearheaded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly promulgated the "Interim Measures for the Management of Recycling and Comprehensive Utilization of Spent Power Batteries from New Energy Vehicles." These regulations are set to take effect on April 1, 2026. Adopting a holistic management strategy that encompasses "multi-channel, full-chain, and entire life cycle" oversight, the measures aim to bolster the supervision and governance of power battery recycling and reuse. This will be achieved through the establishment of a traceability information platform and the implementation of a digital ID management system, thereby fostering resource conservation and environmental stewardship.
