By 2025, the cumulative global sales of light vehicles soared to 91.7 million units, reflecting a 2.3% year-on-year surge. Among the standout performers were Chinese automotive giants BYD Group and Geely Holding Group, which secured the fifth and seventh positions globally, boasting sales volumes of 4.6 million units and 4.11 million units, respectively.
Toyota Group claimed the pinnacle spot with a remarkable 10.42 million units sold, marking a 6% year-on-year increase. Volkswagen Group trailed closely behind in second place, with 8.95 million units sold, albeit experiencing a 2.3% year-on-year decline.
The remaining automakers in the top ten roster comprised Stellantis Group, Hyundai Kia Group, General Motors, Honda Group, Ford Group, and Nissan Group. Each of these companies also unveiled details about their flagship models and corresponding year-on-year sales fluctuations.
