On January 16, 2026, smart announced the suspension of its partnerships with several charging service providers, including Starcharge, TELD, and Didi Charge. Consequently, all related charging station listings have been removed from the charging map feature within the smart car App. When contacted, customer service representatives explained that access to these charging stations has been temporarily halted due to issues arising from the cooperative agreements. At present, there are no concrete plans to reinstate these services. This move is speculated to be linked to financial constraints that have hindered the renewal of existing contracts. In response to this development, smart is actively working on expanding its network of alternative charging stations to maintain user convenience. Prior to this suspension, the smart App offered access to over 1.2 million public charging terminals, spanning more than 350 cities across the region.
