According to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on the 14th, China’s automotive sector maintained robust growth momentum in 2025, with key economic indicators soaring to unprecedented levels. Over the course of the year, auto production surged to 34.531 million units, while sales reached 34.4 million units, representing year-on-year growth of 10.4% and 9.4%, respectively. This performance solidified China’s position as the world’s largest automotive market for the 17th consecutive year.
New energy vehicles (NEVs) emerged as a pivotal growth driver, with production and sales exceeding 16 million units and capturing over 50% of China’s domestic new vehicle market. On the international front, China’s auto exports surpassed 7 million units, with NEV exports alone doubling year-on-year to reach 2.615 million units.
