On January 13, Tesla unveiled a modification to its supercharging overstay occupancy fee scheme. Under the updated policy, fees (set at 6.4 yuan per minute) will kick in exclusively when the charging station is fully occupied, with no vacant parking spaces. Moreover, the grace period granted for vehicles to clear the charging spot has been significantly extended, from the previous 5 minutes to a more generous 20 minutes. During this grace window, drivers won't face any charges for vacating the spot. Tesla clarified that this adjustment is geared towards enhancing the customer experience, rather than serving as a revenue-generating measure.
