In line with the consensus achieved during the China-EU Leaders' Meeting and with the aim of appropriately addressing the EU's concerns regarding Chinese electric vehicles, China and the EU have participated in several rounds of consultations. Both parties have acknowledged the importance of providing Chinese exporters of battery electric vehicles to the EU with comprehensive guidance on price undertakings. This guidance is designed to help Chinese exporters tackle relevant issues in a more pragmatic, focused, and WTO-consistent manner. To facilitate this, the EU will issue the 'Guidance Document on Submitting Price Undertaking Applications' and has pledged to adhere to the principle of non-discrimination. This means applying uniform legal standards to every price undertaking application, in strict compliance with WTO regulations, and ensuring objective and equitable evaluations. This approach reflects the essence of dialogue and the positive outcomes of the consultations between China and the EU. Both China and the EU possess the capacity and readiness to resolve their differences through dialogue and consultations within the framework of WTO rules. This will help maintain the stability of the automotive industry chain and supply chain in China, the EU, and around the world, foster the robust development of China-EU economic and trade relations, and uphold the international trade order.
