Our reporters have obtained information from the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Commerce indicating that, effective January 1, 2026, Shenzhen will officially initiate a comprehensive subsidy scheme. This scheme encompasses incentives for vehicle scrapping and replacement, along with purchase subsidies for six categories of household appliances and four categories of digital products.

Specifically, regarding vehicle scrapping and replacement, individuals opting for new energy vehicles can avail themselves of a maximum subsidy of RMB 20,000, whereas those choosing fuel vehicles are eligible for a maximum subsidy of RMB 15,000. Furthermore, for those trading in their old vehicles for new energy passenger cars, a subsidy of up to RMB 15,000 will be provided, while trading in for fuel-powered passenger cars will yield a maximum subsidy of RMB 13,000.

For household appliances, the subsidy will be calculated at 15% of the sales price, with the stipulation that each consumer can receive only one subsidy per product category, and the maximum subsidy per item is capped at RMB 1,500. Similarly, digital and smart products will also qualify for purchase subsidies at a rate of 15% of the sales price, with the same limit of one subsidy per product category and a maximum subsidy of RMB 500 per item.
