The "Advanced Packaging and Testing Base Project for Digital Light Source Chips" has been earmarked as a significant project in Shanghai and has officially broken ground in the Lingang Special Area. This initiative, backed by a RMB 300 million investment from Shanghai Zhihui Xinhui Microelectronics Co., Ltd. — a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jinghe Optoelectronics — is centered around the development of Micro-LED light display-integrated automotive light source chips.

Spanning an area of 35 acres, the project is slated for completion in the first half of 2027 and is anticipated to achieve certain production capabilities upon its fruition. The project is poised to overcome hurdles in research and development (R&D) as well as manufacturing, drawing on Jinghe Optoelectronics' technological prowess and the collaborative strength of industry-university-research partnerships with Shanghai University. Together, they aim to tackle cutting-edge technologies and advanced packaging and testing processes, a move that has already garnered widespread acclaim.

The Chairman of Jinghe Optoelectronics emphasized that this marks a pivotal moment for the company in its quest to ascend to high-end light source manufacturing. He further affirmed the company's commitment to escalating R&D investments. The realization of this base will not only facilitate the localization and substitution of high-end automotive light source chips but also bolster Lingang and Shanghai's standing as frontrunners in industrial innovation. Moreover, it will offer autonomous and controllable solutions to propel China's intelligent automotive industry forward.

Jinghe Optoelectronics stands as a domestic provider of automotive LED modules, while Shanghai Zhihui Xinhui Microelectronics was officially registered and established in the Lingang Special Area in August 2024.
