A supplier has revealed to the media that the final payment for an AMG project, undertaken in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz (China), has remained unpaid for more than two years. As of now, an outstanding sum of 1.482 million yuan (inclusive of taxes) is still due. The project was successfully completed and handed over in 2022. On October 10 of that same year, Mercedes-Benz settled 80% of the total payment amount. In August 2023, Ernst & Young conducted the final audit, confirming that the total payable amount stood at 6.994 million yuan. Given this, the final payment should have proceeded into the payment processing stage. However, Mercedes-Benz repeatedly offered a series of excuses, including claims that 'auditors have departed from the company,' 'computers lack passwords,' and 'there are doubts regarding the stamped payment amount.' It wasn't until December 15, 2025, that Mercedes-Benz informed the supplier that the corresponding invoice could be issued. Nevertheless, the company failed to provide a reasonable explanation for the prolonged delay. The supplier underscored that Mercedes-Benz has acknowledged the legitimacy of the payment and its obligation to pay but has yet to fulfill the actual payment.
