Some stores have even ground to a halt. The new national standard came into full force on December 1st, prohibiting the sale of all vehicles adhering to the old standard. The new standards introduce more stringent requirements concerning fire safety, tamper-proof design, and other facets, spurring upgrades throughout the entire industry supply chain.
