On December 25, reports indicated that December has traditionally been a pivotal month for a year-end sales surge in the auto market. Nevertheless, this year's auto market at the end of the year is notably lackluster, with consumers largely adopting a wait-and-see approach. Reporters made visits to nearly ten new energy vehicle brand stores, encompassing Tesla, Xiaomi, Harmony Intelligent Mobility, Avatr, and more. They observed that the showrooms were sparsely populated. A staff member from a Xiaomi Auto store mentioned that sales have dwindled since December, with only two or three vehicles being sold each week. Moreover, the company's "immediate vehicle purchase" promotion has not succeeded in significantly boosting sales. In reality, industry experts have been forecasting, as early as November, that there would be no year-end sales spike in the auto market. Additionally, expectations for the rollout of new subsidy policies in 2026 are steadily increasing, further fueling consumers' inclination to wait.
