On December 24, Liu Wei, the Minister of Transport, announced plans to expedite the creation of a modernized technological framework for transport equipment. The focus will be on achieving significant scientific and technological advancements in the realm of intelligent, integrated, and multi-dimensional transport systems. Efforts will be directed towards advancing the research and development of shared technologies in infrastructure and transport equipment sectors, and initiating a series of pivotal innovation projects. Additionally, there will be a push to facilitate the cross-industry integration of cutting-edge technologies—such as artificial intelligence, next-generation information technology, big data, and aerospace information—into the transport sector, and to put into practice the 'Artificial Intelligence + Transport' strategy. Moreover, the ministry aims to foster the growth of strategic emerging industries, including high-end transport equipment manufacturing, new energy vehicles and vessels, new materials, energy conservation, environmental protection, and information technology. This will involve accelerating the development of smart logistics, the low-carbon economy, and digital transport sectors. The ministry will also actively promote clean and low-carbon transport tools and equipment, such as new energy vehicles and vessels, and commence the construction of zero-carbon road transport corridors.
