BAIC Group is gearing up to launch L3 autonomous driving operations in designated scenarios during the first quarter of 2026. Both Changan Automobile and BAIC Bluepark Magna have filed applications with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, seeking market approval for intelligent connected vehicle products that feature L3 conditional autonomous driving capabilities. These applications have been granted conditional approval. The model in question is the ARCFOX Alpha S (L3 MIIT Version), which is outfitted with 34 high-performance sensors. The BAIC Yuanjing Intelligent Driving Technology System comes in three variants: Pro, Max, and Ultra. Notably, the Max version can be upgraded to the L3 level, whereas the Ultra version is specifically designed for the L4 autonomous taxi market.
