Previously, he had forecasted that 2025 would pose significant hurdles for Tesla. Now, he contends that 2026 will be a pivotal year, serving as a litmus test for the company's ultimate success or downfall. Gerber highlighted that Tesla's most pressing concern revolves around its autonomous driving technology. Should this technology fall short of market anticipations, it would deal a severe blow to investor confidence. Furthermore, he took aim at Elon Musk, accusing him of being easily distracted. Gerber also criticized Tesla for being overvalued and for contending with intense competition in the market.
