Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd., along with its joint venture partners—FAW Toyota Motor (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., and FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd.—have submitted recall plans to the State Administration for Market Regulation. The recall encompasses a variety of models: Toyota China is recalling certain imported vehicles, including the Century, Lexus, and Toyota Alphard; FAW Toyota (Chengdu) is recalling specific domestically produced Prado models; GAC Toyota is recalling certain locally manufactured Frontlander, bZ4X, and bZ4X (Platinum Intelligence 4X) models; while FAW Toyota is recalling select domestically produced bZ4X, Corolla Cross, and Allion models. The root cause of the recall lies in a design flaw within the control program of the panoramic monitoring system, which can lead to abnormal image display. This issue has the potential to impair the driver's judgment, thereby posing a safety risk. To rectify this, the companies will provide a complimentary upgrade to the control program for all affected vehicles, ensuring the elimination of the hazard.
