On December 8, Tesla announced that the 4 millionth China-made vehicle had officially rolled off the production line at its Shanghai Gigafactory, a Starlight Gold Model Y L. It took less than 14 months to go from 3 million to 4 million vehicles. Since production commenced in 2019, the Shanghai Gigafactory has contributed nearly half of Tesla's global electric vehicle deliveries over the past six years.
