On December 4th, Chen Zhen's Weibo account, along with other accounts, was suspended. The following day, the account named '@Classmate of Chen Zhen's classmate' was also banned after it posted a reflective piece. On that very same day, authoritative official media reported that Chen Zhen had underpaid his personal income tax by 1.1867 million yuan from 2021 to 2023. In November 2025, the tax authorities made a ruling, demanding that he pay a total of 2.4748 million yuan in overdue taxes and other penalties.
