On December 7, news emerged that at the “Artificial Intelligence + Transportation” Shanghai Launch 2025 event held on the same day, Shanghai officially unveiled its scientific and technological innovation achievements aimed at bolstering the nation’s transportation prowess. A series of pivotal initiatives were launched concurrently. The interconnection of test application scenarios for intelligent connected vehicles between Shanghai and Jiangsu Province is set to foster regional industrial synergy and propel the commercialization of autonomous driving. Furthermore, new autonomous driving test roads have been inaugurated in the Pudong New Area, Minhang District, and the Hongqiao Hub. This brings the total count of open test roads in Shanghai to 3,173, spanning a cumulative distance of 5,238.82 kilometers. These roads encompass roughly one-third of the city’s expanse, creating a thorough and expansive framework for autonomous driving test scenarios.
