Due to the influence of U.S. tariff policies and related factors, South Korea is poised to witness its first year-on-year decline in annual auto exports in five years. According to projections from the Korea Automobile Mobility Industry Association, export volumes are anticipated to hover between 2.71 million and 2.72 million units, marking a downturn of roughly 2.3% to 2.6% from the previous year. This contraction is primarily attributed to a notable drop in South Korean auto shipments to the United States. In the first ten months of this year, South Korea dispatched approximately 1.1075 million vehicles to the U.S. market, reflecting a 7.9% year-on-year decrease. Industry experts are expressing apprehension that the enduring repercussions of U.S. tariff measures and burgeoning trade protectionism will amplify the strain on South Korea's auto export sector.
