Based on the data gathered by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) from the General Administration of Customs, in October 2025, China imported 43,000 complete cars (here, “complete vehicles” is commonly referred to as “cars” in daily automotive context). This figure marked a 5.6% increase compared to the previous month but a 0.3% decline when compared to the same period the previous year. The total import value amounted to US$2 billion, with a 2.1% decrease from the previous month and a significant 16.3% drop year-on-year. From January to October 2025, the cumulative number of imported cars reached 404,000, reflecting a 30% decrease compared to the same period in the previous year. The cumulative import value during this period was US$20.25 billion, a 38.3% decrease year-on-year.
