According to a letter sent by the United States Postal Service (USPS) to Congress on November 17, the agency currently uses over 2,600 electric vehicles for mail delivery. In 2023, the U.S. Congress allocated $3 billion for the procurement of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, with $1.2 billion specifically earmarked for electric vehicles. In the letter, the USPS revealed that it has ordered 8,700 Ford E-Transit vehicles, with 2,010 of them currently engaged in mail delivery tasks at 65 locations.
