On November 28th, Lei Jun took to Weibo to clarify that Xiaomi's vehicle actually exhibits commendable energy consumption performance. He explained that there are objective reasons why the evaluation results seem to lag behind those of Tesla. The Xiaomi SU7, classified as a C-class vehicle, boasts a sizable body, top-notch specifications, and a substantial weight, all of which contribute to its relatively higher energy consumption. Lei Jun also mentioned that Xiaomi remains committed to learning from Tesla's expertise in order to further optimize energy consumption. Recently, a well-known blogger carried out energy consumption tests on 21 popular electric vehicle models. Under specific testing conditions, the Xiaomi YU7 emerged as the vehicle with the longest driving range, while the Xiaomi SU7 achieved the highest completion rate. Nevertheless, when compared overall, their performance still did not quite measure up to that of the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y.
