On December 10, CATL and Stellantis Group announced that they would establish a joint venture to invest €4.1 billion in the construction of a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery factory in Zaragoza, Spain. The factory is expected to commence production by the end of 2026, with an annual production capacity of up to 50GWh. The joint venture, controlled by CATL, aims to reduce the cost of Stellantis' electric vehicles and enhance its competitiveness in the European market.
