According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the 197th plenary session of the United Nations World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (UN/WP.29) took place in Geneva, Switzerland, from November 11 to 14, 2025. During this pivotal meeting, the United Nations Global Technical Regulation titled "On-board Battery Durability Standards for Electric Heavy-Duty Vehicles," which was developed under the joint leadership of China, the United States, Japan, and the European Union, successfully passed a voting process and was subsequently officially released for implementation. Moving forward, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will persist in mobilizing relevant domestic entities and experts to actively engage in the crafting of technical regulations within emerging domains such as new energy vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles. This effort aims to bolster China's active participation and meaningful contributions to the harmonization of international automotive standards and regulations.
