Recently, multiple Maserati dealers have made an announcement: the brand's inaugural all - electric mid - size SUV, the Grecale Folgore, is set to hit the market in December 2024. It comes with an official recommended retail price of RMB 898,800. However, dealer quotes kick off at a mere RMB 358,800. This marks a straight - up price cut of RMB 540,000, which translates to a substantial 40% discount. When factoring in the base vehicle and optional features, the total cost hovers around RMB 400,000. One dealership, which just opened its doors in October, is putting 70 to 80 discounted vehicles on offer. And it has already managed to sell nearly half of them, drawing in a large number of customers from out of town. Nevertheless, despite the significant price reduction that has given sales a much - needed boost, it hasn't been enough to turn the tide of Maserati's declining fortunes in the Chinese market. Since 2022, Maserati's sales in China have been on a continuous downward trajectory. In 2024, a mere 1,209 units were sold. Moreover, the Chinese market's contribution to Maserati's global sales has also taken a hit, plummeting from 20% in 2022 to a mere 8.2% in 2024.
