Recently, Huawei's official website issued a statement concerning the malfunction of the StarFlash car key feature in its Mate 70 and Mate 70 Pro smartphones, which has defaulted back to a Bluetooth car key functionality. Huawei confirmed that it is diligently engaged in refining this feature, with the optimization process slated for completion by the end of December 2025. The actual launch timeline will hinge on real-world conditions. The StarFlash car key has already been introduced in the Huawei Pura 80 series, and older models will achieve compatibility following an upgrade to HarmonyOS 6. Presently, certain models and vehicles are capable of activating this function. Similar to the Bluetooth car key, the StarFlash car key is a contactless digital car key that, when paired with compatible vehicle models, facilitates welcome, unlocking, and locking functions. In comparison to Bluetooth and UWB car keys, the StarFlash car key boasts positioning precision that is over five times greater than that of a Bluetooth car key and consumes merely half the power of a UWB car key.
