He emphasized that research in the field of power batteries should zero in on the value throughout their entire life cycle. In his statement, Liu Jincheng explained that all materials in ternary batteries boast a higher recovery capacity compared to those in lithium iron phosphate batteries. When factoring in the recovery value of nickel, cobalt, and lithium, it becomes apparent that the full life cycle cost of ternary batteries could potentially be lower than that of lithium iron phosphate batteries. This perspective offers a fresh angle for the industry to evaluate and compare these two types of batteries in a more comprehensive manner.
