On November 10, 2025, autonomous driving technology company WeRide announced that it had received approval from the UAE federal government to commence commercial operations of fully driverless taxis (Robotaxis) in Abu Dhabi. This marks the world's first urban-level L4 autonomous driving commercialization license issued outside the United States, with services set to launch first through the Uber and TXAI platforms.
