Sidharth Awasthi, the project leader in charge of Tesla's Cybertruck, has declared his intention to resign from the company after dedicating over eight years of service. As a prime example of Tesla's homegrown management talent, Awasthi joined Tesla straight out of university in 2018. He quickly climbed the corporate ladder, eventually being appointed as the overall project leader for the Cybertruck by the close of 2022. Nevertheless, the electric pickup truck's market performance did not meet expectations following its release. Awasthi took to social media to express that leaving was a tough call and reminisced about his diverse roles during his eight-year tenure at Tesla. Moreover, since the previous summer, he had also taken on the role of project manager for the Model 3. Recently, amidst a series of layoffs and a talent exodus, Tesla has undertaken a sweeping reorganization of its vehicle project organizational framework.
