On November 5, the 2025 XPENG Tech Day took place in Guangzhou. At the event, He Xiaopeng, the CEO of XPENG Motors, revealed the company's significant financial commitment to AI and the research and development (R&D) of large-scale models for autonomous driving. He mentioned that to pioneer the innovative VLA (Vision-Language-Action) technical approach, XPENG Motors has, since 2024, invested in computing resources equivalent to 30,000 cards (referring to the computing power units). The R&D expenditure has surpassed 2 billion yuan. Moreover, the VLA solution, which enables translation without relying on specific languages, has undergone a "qualitative leap." Furthermore, XPENG plans to open-source its second-generation VLA large-scale model to global business partners, with Volkswagen set to become its first strategic partner.
