On November 3, it was reported that the U.S. automotive safety regulatory agency is investigating potential defects in the door handles of certain Tesla models. Within days of the investigation's launch, there was a significant increase in consumer complaints, primarily concerning battery failures that render the exterior door handles inoperable. Owners of Tesla's best-selling Model Y have reported that due to low vehicle battery voltage, the door handles have malfunctioned, and in some cases, children have even been locked inside the vehicles.
