Zhou Shuchang, an AI specialist and a founding member of Stepfun AI, has taken on the role of Senior Director of Autonomous Driving Algorithms at XPENG. He will report directly to Liu Xianming, who heads the autonomous driving division. In his new capacity, Zhou Shuchang will spearhead the intensive training of XPENG's autonomous driving base model and propel the further development of the 'Physical AI' strategic research and development matrix.

A graduate of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhou Shuchang has previously held positions at renowned companies like Google and Megvii. He stands out as an AI scientist with hands-on experience in implementing industrial solutions in fields such as multimodal large models.

Liu Xianming, his superior, brings a wealth of experience from his time at Meta and Cruise, where he played a pivotal role in advancing the application of global base models in the realm of autonomous driving.

Zhou Shuchang's recruitment is viewed as a strategic move by XPENG to enhance its large model capabilities and fine-tune its algorithm stack, marking a significant step forward in the company's technological advancement.
