On October 31, Beijing Li Auto Co., Ltd. submitted a recall plan to the State Administration for Market Regulation in compliance with requirements set forth in regulations like the "Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automotive Products." Starting from November 7, the company will initiate a recall of 11,411 units of the 2024 Li Auto MEGA models. These vehicles were manufactured between February 18 and December 27, 2024. The issue stems from the coolant's inadequate anti-corrosion properties. Under certain conditions, this can lead to corrosion and leakage of the cooling aluminum plate. In extreme scenarios, it might even trigger thermal runaway in the power battery, posing a significant safety risk. Li Auto will carry out free replacements of the coolant, power battery, and front motor controller for all recalled vehicles.
