On this day, Tao Lin, Tesla's Vice President, disclosed that the rooftop of the Shanghai Gigafactory is now entirely adorned with solar panels. This setup is projected to yield an annual electricity production of 11 million kWh, concurrently cutting down carbon emissions by 4,600 tons. Moreover, the Shanghai Energy Storage Superfactory has also embraced solar panels, anticipating an annual uptick in electricity generation by 6 million kWh and a corresponding decrease in carbon emissions by 2,500 tons. Collectively, the two factories are set to generate 17 million kWh of electricity annually, with a cumulative reduction in carbon emissions surpassing 7,100 tons.
