On September 29, 2025, six key government departments, spearheaded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, unveiled the Work Plan for Sustaining Growth in the Machinery Industry (2025-2026). This strategic blueprint envisions the machinery sector maintaining a robust and steady growth trajectory from 2025 to 2026, with a significant boost in the resilience and security of vital industrial and supply chains. The overarching goal is to attain an average annual revenue growth rate of about 3.5%, propelling the industry's total revenue beyond the 10 trillion yuan mark.
The plan places a strong emphasis on nurturing and expanding emerging economic sectors and innovative business models, such as the first-launch economy (which focuses on pioneering new products and technologies), the ice and snow economy (capitalizing on winter sports and related tourism), the silver hair economy (catering to the needs and preferences of the elderly population), and smart tourism (leveraging technology to enhance travel experiences). Additionally, it calls for broadening the application of specialized robots, elderly care and rehabilitation devices, ice and snow sports equipment, cultural and tourism gear, educational tools, and additive manufacturing technologies.
In tandem with these efforts, the implementation of the Action Plan for Effectively Reducing Logistics Costs Across Society will be expedited. This initiative aims to fast-track the development of intelligent logistics hubs and parks, foster the integration of "artificial intelligence + modern logistics," and encourage the widespread adoption of intelligent logistics solutions, including autonomous vehicles, automated warehouses, and unmanned loading and unloading systems.
