On September 27, as reported by the official WeChat account "Hainan Release", the 2025 Plenary Meeting of Hainan Province's Second International Expert Advisory Panel for the New Energy Vehicle Industry was convened in Haikou on the same day. Wan Gang, President of the China Association for Science and Technology and Chairperson of the World New Energy Vehicle Congress, was present at the gathering and delivered a keynote address. He underscored the importance of capitalizing on the imminent operational closure of the Hainan Free Trade Port, with a focus on the entire new energy vehicle industry chain—spanning testing, sales, services, and cultural development—to forge a holistic industrial development framework. This involves cultivating a conducive environment for vehicle use and establishing a robust infrastructure support system. Concurrently, it is crucial to advocate for the complete electrification of newly introduced vehicles and fully tap into the potential of the new energy vehicle rental market. Moreover, there should be a push towards advancing the integration of "vehicles, roads, and cloud computing" to boost traffic efficiency, guarantee safe and pleasant journeys, and collectively propel the new energy vehicle sector towards a phase of high-caliber development.
