During the period from January to August this year, the domestic automotive market has maintained its robust growth momentum, with both auto production and sales volumes surpassing the 20 million unit threshold. Notably, the penetration rate of new energy passenger vehicles has surged to 55.3%, while the market share of domestic brands has soared to an impressive 64%. Among these stellar performers, BYD has truly shone, not only retaining its crown as the national sales leader among auto companies but also achieving remarkable sales figures for new energy vehicles. In August alone, BYD sold 374,000 new energy vehicles. Its cumulative sales volume from January to August reached an astounding 2.864 million units, marking a 23% year-on-year increase. This impressive performance has allowed BYD to complete 62% of its annual sales target, putting it firmly on track to surpass it.
The 'Divine Eyes' assisted driving system, which BYD launched at the beginning of the year, has proven to be a resounding success. Models equipped with this system have collectively sold over 1.4 million units. In August, assisted driving models accounted for an impressive 90% of BYD's domestic sales, firmly establishing the brand at the pinnacle of the sales rankings for intelligent driving-assisted vehicle brands.
Moreover, BYD has continued to innovate, introducing groundbreaking products such as the Lingyuan in-car drone system. Models equipped with the Super e-Platform have also garnered widespread acclaim in the market.
In overseas markets, BYD's performance has been equally stellar. In August, the company's overseas sales of passenger vehicles and pickups reached 80,464 units, representing a remarkable 146.4% year-on-year increase. For the entire year of 2025, the cumulative sales volume in overseas markets has reached 630,728 units, up 135.7% year-on-year, accounting for 22% of the company's total sales volume.
