Nissan has officially declared that its next-generation ProPILOT advanced driving assistance system has initiated road test demonstrations, with a formal launch in Japan slated for within the fiscal year 2027. Leveraging a fleet of prototypes built on the all-electric Nissan Ariya model, the system showcased its ability to drive safely and reliably amidst the intricate urban traffic of downtown Tokyo. This system combines Wayve's AI-powered driving software (Wayve AI Driver) with Nissan's 'ground truth perception' technology, which is based on cutting-edge LiDAR, in an effort to establish a new benchmark for driving assistance technologies.
