On Wednesday, Mercedes-Benz unveiled a significant shake-up in its senior management team. Jörg Burzer, currently at the helm of the production division, is slated to take over from Markus Schäfer as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This strategic move is geared towards infusing the board of directors with younger talent and boosting cost-efficiency.
The German automotive giant revealed that Burzer, a seasoned professional at 55 years old, will shoulder the responsibilities of overseeing research and development, procurement, and will officially step into the role of CTO at the beginning of December.
