On September 24, Li Auto's Legal Department released a statement, disclosing that they had recently identified a network account with an IP address traced to Inner Mongolia. This account was found to be posting false and misleading content on the Today's Headline platform about Li Auto's yet-to-be-released new model, the 'Li Auto i6.' The post invented scenarios involving after-sales disputes concerning the i6 and fabricated rumors about its battery supply, contract terms, and other details.
The same day the misleading information was posted, Li Auto's Legal Department reported the incident to the police. Following an investigation by the public security authorities, it was verified that the account was, in fact, operated by an MCN agency affiliated with a specific technology center. In a bid to drive traffic to its platforms, this agency had purchased multiple online accounts, creating and spreading false information to garner illegal profits.
Recently, the public security authorities have meted out administrative penalties to the individuals involved from the MCN agency for breaches of public security management regulations.
