On September 24th, Lei Jun, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi Group, posted on his personal Weibo account that the decisions to build cars and restart chip manufacturing were made almost simultaneously, with Xiaomi investing nearly all of the resources it had accumulated over the previous decade. He admitted that the simultaneous advancement of these two major projects was immensely stressful, and looking back now, he still marvels at the courage they had at that time.
